How it Works

Since 2020, Duke's policy of delivering flowers to patients and employees has changed, and we are no longer able to deliver directly to the rooms.

For patients, we are permitted to take them to the front desk, and Duke has volunteers or nurses that will come get them, and take them to the patient's room. Please note that it may be some time from when you receive a delivery confirmation, that the patient receives the flowers.

Before any delivery is made, we call the hospital to confirm they are able to receive flowers. Some units, such as ICU, do not allow flowers for health concerns. Even if the patient in question doesn't have such health concerns, they may not allow for the benefit of others in that unit.

In such circumstances, our two options are to cancel the order, or deliver to a family member, either at the hospital or any location within our delivery area. That family member can then at the very least bring the card message to them, so they know you are thinking about them.

We currently do not carry any alternatives to live plants or flowers that can be delivered in its place.


For employees at Duke Main Hospital and Duke Pavilion, we are now allowed to leave the arrangements at the front desk, and must get in contact with the recepient to meet us for delivery, as per Duke's policy. When placing an order, please include a phone number for the recepient so we can get in touch about delivery.

For employees that work in the Cancer Center or South Clinics, we are able to deliver to the desk of whatever clinic they work in.
